Stress Tolerance

What give rise to stress? Most of us charge the symptoms of stress - which may include anxiety, depression, insomnia, irritability, fatigue, continual health problems and anger - entirely upon stressful circumstances.

Circumstances comprise only one part of the stress. However, the other important factor is internal stress tolerance.
Time pressure, group pressures, opposing ideas and/or difficulty in task can cause stress. If one or more of these sources of stress are generally parts of the job, then tolerance for the specific stress is important. You can be sensitized or tolerant to stress when you find the following in yourself-

Keeps the same style even when working under deadlines, tired, or opposed on a point.
Keep your cool even when you are frustrated.
Works without making mistakes even working under pressure and several contradictory priorities.
You can contribute positive thoughts even when everyone seems to hold a different viewpoint. You can stay on course even the policy or procedure changes unexpectedly.
You can work comfortably even under tight guidelines and period.
You are working well when having normal day-to-day stress in personal life.
You can keep cool while dealing with the nagging clients.
You are responding to citizens' needs in emergencies.

Inner peace has nothing to do with the absence or presence of stress, tragedy and pain; it has everything to do with whom we rely. True peace, strength and joy have no relation with the circumstances. They are not found through money, power, possessions, success or even the best of associations we can even get. It is an inner state of peace and confidence that make us feel better. It provides tranquility and protection in the middle of the most vicious storms.
If you are exposed to the same or varied degree of stress everyday, why not try to develop a tolerance against it.

The fundamental key to succeed to the goal of stress tolerance is to expose you to the lowest possible degree of the stress. Do not panic. Try to be calm. Try thinking some good memories that you had in recent times or in the past. Even it is related to the most secret part of your life. Try thinking positive. Focus on the matter that the problem has come; and it is bound to go away. It may take sometime, but after that, you will be a free man.

Try to keep your faith up on something. May it be your god, your parents or if you are a true atheist, try believing yourself. Grow confidence in yourself. Confidence can boost your moral a lot and the stress tolerance process will take less time to develop.

Perhaps the most important criterion among the discussed is to keep your cool. Try to handle harder situation as you did the lesser degree. Control your anger- a decision taken hastily almost always results in catastrophe. Do not take important decision if you cannot control your anxiety properly.

Overall, stress tolerance is important in our daily life. It will give us long-lasting peace of our mind.
