Managing Constant Worry with Herbal Stress Relief

Stress affects more and more people everyday. Just the daily grind and its problems can cause stress, but add in the additional problems some of us come up with a couple of days a week, and your body and mind begin to be affected by stress.

Herbal stress relief has been a natural healing method for centuries. With more and more advances in medicine this century however, people turned from folkloric herbal stress relief and began to use more prescription medications and, eventually, even over the counter medicines.

Types of Herbal Stress Relief

There are many herbal supplements that can be taken for herbal stress relief. As with any supplement, results will vary as to how effective the supplement is in each person taking it. Most types of herbal stress relief have been used successfully for centuries, and more people have rediscovered them recently.

Valerian can be a very effective component of herbal stress relief. It can relax the nervous system and just generally calm your body and mind down. Valerian can also help you go to sleep and stay asleep each night.

GABA, which stands for gamma aminobutyric acid, is basically an amino acid that helps your nervous system communicate with your body. It can help decrease neuron activity, which in turn will keep your nerve cells from being over-stimulated and help with stress levels. Interestingly, it has also been used to treat epilepsy and hypertension, among other things.

L-Tyrosine is another amino acid that can help produce hormones and various other neurotransmitters in the nervous system. It can be used to help with depression, anxiety, insomnia, and as a general mood elevator. L-Tyrosine has even been used as an appetite suppressant for those who are trying to lose weight or have a tendency to over eat when stressed.

A newer entry into the herbal stress relief market is relora. Relora not only helps your system calm down, it can also balance hormone levels that have often been associated with over eating and the subsequent obesity.

Regardless of which type of herbal stress relief you decide to try, do your research and consult your doctor if you just aren't sure. If you are currently on any kind of prescription medication for anti-depression, anxiety, or general stress, then you will definitely need to talk to your doctor before starting on any herbal supplement.
