Stress is common in both the men and the fairer gender. Causes of anxiety and depression in both the men and women might be quite dissimilar from each other. Definitely it is unknown that if stress affects men and women differently. Generally, as the two sexual categories often work in different social circumstances, both are likely to build up different emotional temperament and personality. For that reason, their responses and handling the stress situations differ to each other.

Women usually say they experience more stressed out than men do. No one gets surprised of their claim. Psychiatrists authenticated it after research. Moreover, the other studies conducted by the researchers explored the myths of stress between the two groups. A survey conducted in the year 2006 by the American Psychological Association (APA). It confirmed the stress gap. 51percent of women, as compared to 43 percent of men confirmed that stress had a negative impact on their living.

According to that APA analysis, women complain some sort of physical symptoms when they feel stressed out. They are more likely to complain of stress-related physical problems such as anxiety, depression, hypertension, obesity and depression. However, men are complaining similarly. It is seen that women take the help of a doctor for stress-related ailments more than that of men, but the latter die from die for the ailments in a larger amount.

Men and women express different response to stress. It may be more than just an interesting observation; it could give details in their longer life span and health. One reason may be that the women befriend others more quickly than men are. This protects them from some of the damaging effects of stress.

Lack of reciprocal and combined emotion management within the family members is an irritating stressor for the women. Women take care of the bulk of the parental duty such as educational and emotional care of their offspring. This may have a dire feeling to women both physically and mentally.

Menopause (cessation of menstruation) is another stressor to women. They tend to be more irritable during the premenopausal as well as postmenopausal period. Hormone plays a role but the realization of the bitter truth of loss of fertility and libido make them feel really sad. There is also sleep disorder. All these factors make the women more and more stressed out during menopause.

For the men, stress in their workplace leads the list of the stressors. Uncertainty in the office, non-cooperation from the fellow workers, frosted picture of their future, family burden, no carrier management plans are the culprits. In addition, children’s development, tension in the family and among relatives, monetary problems significantly increases the stress.

What will be the answer to stress?

Healthy and balanced diet, regular physical workout, positive thinking are the key factors that can reduce stress.
Consume adequate quantities of fiber from whole grains, beans and fruits. Avoid stressor foods like tea, coffee, alcohol and cola. Follow a low fat diet. Try yoga, meditation, stretching, breathing exercises, listening to music. You can do whatever activity helps you to relax. To maintain good health, one should also sleep adequately, about six to eight hours a day.
