If you are experiencing headaches for a long time, you can well guess the triggering factors for your headache. Although there are lots of causes of headache, some features that are common when headache is in question.

Kicking Back on the Weekends

Partying in the weekends, drinking alcohol, going out for a short trip possess a major cause for headache in the consecutive days. It affects our performance in the workplace also.
Alcohol is a neuronal depressant. Since the highest areas are most easily deranged and these are primarily inhibitory, apparent excitation and euphoria are experienced at lower plasma concentrations. With increasing concentration mental clouding, disorganization of thought, impairment of memory and other faculties, alteration of perception and drowsiness supervene. During the time alcohol is acting on brain, it exerts anticonvulsant action, but this is followed by lowering of threshold: little impairment in the stability may precipitate headache. Late night partying produces stress. It has a direct action for production of headache.
So, you must try to lower the rate of weekend partying, limit the intake of alcohol, remaining in the club for late night. You may go for your creativity for the weekends. Mow your lawn, do the household work that are pending for a long time.

Self-Treating Your Head Pain

You can do favor to your self by treating headache through massaging. Sit on a chair upright comfortably in a quiet room. Close your eyes. Gently massage the nape of the neck with the fingertips of both the hands in a circular motion. Then gently put pressure by the thumb over the area just above your ear. Still closing your eyes, massage the area over both the eyebrows. Do not go for self-medication. The general painkillers like paracetamol, ibuprofen can cause rebound headache.

Your Hormones

Raised level of hormones can trigger headache. Mostly the androgens have this capacity. Women suffer from premenstrual intense headache. This is mainly because of the androgen- Estrogen. It inhibits another hormone Serotonin that has a potency to lower pain anywhere in the body.
A simple painkiller drug like Paracetamol, Ibuprofen can take care of this type of headache. As this type of drug can cause gastric irritation, you should take antacid preparation with it.

Harboring Anger

Often we have to conceal our sense of anger because of many reasons. This has a negative impact to our physique. The muscles get stiff, including the neck and scalp muscle. Anger also causes stress, which in turn releases stress hormone- Adrenaline. It produces headache.
If you have restrained from expressing anger, try some relaxation technique.
