Kill Stress— Before It Kills You


In this modern world of rat race, we are bond to face anxiety at any part of our time. And anxiety brings stress. The pressure of modern livelihood is calling the stress around. Throughout our life span, we face a variety of changes in our life. Every change, whether it is pleasing or bad, gives us some amount of stress. However, if the stress becomes intense or protracted, it will put us in depression or with anxiety disorders. We all agree on that a person spends most of the time at the workplace. Job dissatisfaction, job hazards, workplace condition, and challenges are some of the common origins of stress. A recent survey found the highest levels of stress in professions such as medicine, finance and business. Women suffer stress most likely in their personal relations. Personal or social, whatever may be the reason, stress leads to acute physical and psychological difficulties including depression and anxiety, in both, men and women.

While depression creates sensations like despair, hopelessness and irritation, anxiety disorder results into emotions of terror and panic even in case of normal conditions. Although, exact causes of depression are not known to us, but researches have thrown some light on it. Today we know that depression is a consequence of an abnormal communication between the brain's neural circuits and its chemical neurotransmitters. Other than this, stress may rise from genetic, environmental and emotional factors.

Stress may cause various problems in our body. It may lower the condition of our cardiovascular system- giving rise to high blood pressure, coronary thrombosis, our renal system, gastrointestinal system and nervous system. Almost all parts of our body can be affected by the stress. A dreadful disease- Alzheimer’s disease can be the end result of the insult to memory function. It is one of the most incapacitating diseases known to man.

Anxiety disorder is documented by panic attacks, also known as agoraphobia. It is a severe anxiety condition when a person is scared of panicky feelings when he/she is put under open spaces. The stress is so intense that one may encounter frightful thoughts at such places which are normal to others. Women suffer from this type of panic attacks more.


Then what are the solutions for stress?

Positive approach- Always put a positive approach. It always helps us to build our own way and eradicate many difficulties.

Laugh- Laughter has the power to soothe some of the stressful mind even when it is totally artificial. Do laugh more and more.

Cry- Crying helps us to release the tightness of our mind and body that we may be experiencing.

Values- Define your values. Try to remain within the limit you have self-imposed.

Exercise- Regular work-out. You may join Yoga classes, aerobics, and a multi gym. Regular exercise purifies our body from harmful chemicals that are produced by stress.

Researchers have shown that having sex and orgasm are wonderful technique to relieve stress. Go for a long overdue vacation. Never try to overburden yourself with works.
